Are these MDs the SPC have been doing on individual super cells relatively new? I feel like I’ve only seen them in the past year or two.

SUMMARY...Based on recent radar and environmental data, a strong to
potentially intense tornado with potential peak winds of 110 to 155
mph (EF1-EF3) is likely ongoing and tracking towards Alexandria, LA.

DISCUSSION...Recent radar signatures from KPOE as of 1832z reveal a
long track tornadic supercell characterized by a 0.5 degree
rotational velocity between 61 and 70 kt. A tornadic debris
signature has also been noted on recent radar scans. These
signatures are occurring in an environment characterized by STP
between 4 and 5. Previous signatures within similar environments
produced tornado-damage-estimated wind speeds from 110 to 155 mph
and confidence is high for likely strong to potentially intense
tornado. A tornado is ongoing and may continue based on the
rotational velocity continuity and the storm moving within a
   favorable downstream environment.

Last year or so, yes. The science is definitely there for these concentrated discussions now but I wouldn't expect to see any around here soon. :arrowhead:

One of the hairiest nights in a while. The ice banging off the house along with small limbs was crazy.  What were the high gusts around the area.

A lot of 35-40mph type gusts at the CT ASOS sites. A lot of 40+ in MA though so you guys may have been locally higher.

Storm #1 dropped 3.0" with 0.15" LE in 20 hours, noon Tues-8A Wed.  #2, the trough, brought exactly the same SN and LE, but in 1/5 the time, 6-10 PM last evening with about half falling 8-9.  (IMO, a 4-hr event doesn't classify as a squall, unless 6"+ comes with strong winds. Half that with little wind doesn't qualify.)  The 10 snowless hours in between were mid 20s mostly cloudy.  At 7 AM had 1° with moderate winds; it blew last night but nothing like reports from points S & W.  Today's max was set at last evening's 18° obs; expect this afternoon tops out <15.

Give me 75° dews over this crap any day.

I'd take this over the 75° Dp's any day.  I can always add a layer and still do what I need to do when it's cold but there's nothing I can do over cooling off in that crap.

5° this morning...I love that squeaky sound snow makes when it's cold.
