December 2019

Sunset was a few minutes ago, here in Staten Island, but the sky appears noticeably darker than usual.  Radar looks like it's on our doorstep (to both the north and west) and heading this way within the next 10 - 15 minutes...
Took this from work in Staten Island 20 min or so ago. 1af61f65d005054e02aa6e68d420fc05.jpg

32* with a snow squall here at 5pm.   30* at 5:07pm.      Just 15 mins. worth and it has to last about 2-weeks (in your mind) before a repeat or something better.       I believe it was a more violent passage last Jan. for me, on this type of event.

this was nothing compared to last year, wind wise. I was in central park for both. Today started out with wind, so I was hopeful, but then it just sorta remained calm and puked out snow.

Now if we could just get a squall line to last for 24 hours, then we'd be in business.

No comparison this was like 40 min of moderate, sometimes heavy snow.

Last year was 15 minutes of fury.

this year we had 5 min of heavy snow and maybe 1/4", last year was 15 min of blitz and like an inch

Lasted about 10 minutes, light to moderate snow, finished with 1/32”, I’ll mark this one as a trace.
