  1. Still ripping here in Port Huron. Lightning about 20 min ago and the seeing the glow of transformers blowing up in the distance. The lake sounds super angry. Hoping to keep electricity but this wind/snow is relentless
  2. Tiny flakes over here on the lake but wind is picking up
  3. But hey we get the anticipation and the longevity of having it last longer
  4. I feel ya being in Pt Huron is almost like being on another continent. Not many folks to discuss local wx here but (shrug)
  5. 2 pages of model discussion and not 1 screenshot of said models to visualize what is being discussed. This sub forum would be so much better if these were attached.
  6. *slightly off topic* one thing I’ve noticed since moving to this regional board is that there’s a lot of discussion about latest/different models… but no screenshots to go with the post. So I have to kind of look around online to see which model you’re talking about. Just sorta wondering why folks don’t attach a quick pic of model (or at least link) so we can easily correlate post with visual. *end of off topic, carry on*
  7. I just did an entire loop from UWS to 57th up to 96th and back in CP and unless that board was perched a couple hundred feet in the air, there was absolutely no place that measured that much snow there.
  8. ok just had to take dogs out and this weather sucks b*lls. Windy rainy and raw. who do I talk to in order to get proper winter precipitation ❄️?
  9. What makes this whole dry spell worse is that I have a 2nd place in Michigan and I keep getting weather warnings from Alexa today about the snowstorms. Makes me wanna jump in the car and spend the rest of the winter there . Which I may do next week. This cold and rainy weather is no bueno
  10. #1 spot gave us the highest snowfall storm on record (in NYC) 9 days later… so there’s that
  11. Can’t complain here in Port Huron it’s been consistently howling/snowing all day and the winds are bad enough to scare the dogs. It’s been interesting to watch the snowfall change direction today. Pretty sure my place has been hammered from every direction except from the east . The lake is pretty wild too
  12. Thanks hell it’s been better than the east coast so I’m not complaining at all. They’re just getting rain outta this so the disappointment level is about a 10/10 with that crew
  13. Which is what I’m looking for ❄️ first winter here (from NYC where the boards would be insufferable right now) so really hoping for a SE MI jackpot. Specifically Port Huron but ya know can’t be picky
  14. IMO this would be much better than what is currently used
  15. The map doesn’t show the “center of the storm” it shows where landfall is possible and Ft Myers is very much in that area
  16. Sorry but where is that map from? each NHC arum varied a bit, but swfl was never out of the cone. In all the years I lived in Florida, especially knowing how hurricanes can change path at the last minute, I would NEVER have thought of going south on the same coast it was forecast to hit
  17. in my opinion, and from what I’m hearing from friends and family down in swfl, that’s a very conservative death toll estimate you’re expecting
  18. There’s not My whole family is in Cape Coral so I was watching the local news and reading the local newspaper down there starting last Sunday and was aghast that they decided to have school on Monday. It was like “no big deal, folks… carry on”
  19. NBC-2.com has is showing a lot of horrendous damage from there
  20. Anyone who knew the history of Charlie (wink)
  21. A bit was in contact with my family down there and now can’t get through in over an hour.
  22. They’re not grew up down there and *everyone* I’ve talked to is staying (my brother for instance)
