Nws already has chance of mix in p+c for Adams and York county . This kind of sneaky setup can bust cold so possible interesting day Tomorrow for extreme northerners and out towards Winchester.

We're just trusting snow maps verbatim this year are we? :)

1) Had to wake up early this morning (as my 5:15 post shows) and was getting ready to go to bed so I was in no mood for detailed analysis of the NAM;

2) Detailed analysis of the NAM is frowned upon, and the 6z run proves why.  Lol

If this morning is an indication of today's weather... mby will see no rain...beautiful clear sky and a cool 37 degrees. Looks like short range models have a sharp n/s cutoff with precip.

Todays High temps for  (Westminster )

Euro.  40

Gfs.    39-40

3knam  39-40

Cobb output  39.6

Pretty impressive for early November. Looking forward to the hard freeze Fri. night.

Looking ahead Cobb output has 35 FrIday for Westminster as a high...nice.

Yep...just surprised it was so clear at 6am. Thought cloud deck would have moved in by then.

DC currently in a sucker hole, while it's raining good imby. This is why I moved here.

4-6 weeks from now,  all things being equal (relative to average), and this system (slp running along a cold front w/in 24 hrs. after passage) would be one of our typical ways we manage a 3-6" to 4-8" snowfall. I just hope this is a preview of things to come.

43 degrees, .05 so far. Rain has been mostly missing my place, but that's fine. Had over 1.15 this past weekend. Now if this were snow and everyone around me already had 2-4 inches and I had a dusting,  different story.

Completely agree, mitch. For some reason, I've always really liked these kinds of systems in winter. Pretty much a guaranteed cold 3" snowfall, with the real chance of doubling up on that without too much effort.

Straightforward systems are the best. Clippers, overrunning events, Miller As...I will buy ten times out of ten. We fail when we try to get fancy around here.

Ummm... today is beautiful out.  Love the cold rain.  Feels like November.

My favorite wx day this season.

Mod rain, 38, and a radar that keeps blossoming in early November. Can’t do much better.

.92" today (still raining, but tapering off)

1.82" in November

4.18" in October

41" and counting YTD

Yes it was bone dry for 2 five week periods roughly overlapping June and September, but otherwise on pace for an average to slightly wetter than usual year.  The summer was, by far, the wettest I have seen in 8 examples since moving here in 2010.
