Jan 23/24 2016 obs/nowcast - the fight for the North

Here's the 21z push in E MA we've been advertising today....finally making it's final surge NW before pivoting

There's some decent ML fronto over slightly -EPV across SE MA so this should promote some pretty good banding over the next few hours...with any luck the heavier banding can get into the BOS metro region.

Congrats on your blizzard warning hope you get nailed looks good

A renewed moisture source has popped up on the eastern side of the surface low and upper level low, this must be the additional H5 energy that has rounded the base of the trough.

Here's a good view of the washing machine.  Will this be convective in nature...Tsnows for someone?

Already is. That yellow "-" is a negative CG.

It's hard to see, but if you click on it it's there.

This is some incredible stuff overhead right now. 2-3"/hr without a doubt. A couple hours of this and will be at or near a foot.

I measured 8 inches about an hour ago in Branford. Radar still looks great.

Some nice bands on radar now over RI and SE MA... the 30DBZ+ echoes were having a tough time holding together as they flowed in from the Atlantic... holding together and developing much better now.
