Uncle, I remember this one, at 11, but I'm not bragging, having missed most of the best. 

 

As I remember, 25.8" was the reading,  And it was at the Battery, as you correctly recall.

Next year (Dec '48) we got a 19" storm, at the Battery, but now officially around 16" at Central Park, I think.

 

Wish they still measured down there.

19.6" at the Battery in 1948...I was in my mothers belly at the time and she fell in a snow drift...She was helped home and I heard that story all my early life...

Lol. You couldn't get the snow out of your blood after that.  Hope your Mom recovered.

No problem here. We have had snowpack for a week even with melting and some sun and above freezing temps. Melt it down and away in enough spots so it's not dirty. Get some rain in from the cutter to wash it down and we can reload for a shot or two here in February.
