Snow/graupel on cam. Would be more impressed if this was May. SHSN in late Apr is nbd here.

Yeah 4/23 is late, but not abursedly so...we had like an inch of accumulation on this date 4 years ago. Getting some mangled graupel is cool, but it's not all that noteworthy. Even last year we had accumulating snow on 4/16.

5/18/02 and 5/6/96 are definitely far more impressive...and of course 5/26/13

I must indeed be a member of a rare breed if I'm one of the few people left in a forum full of winter weather enthusiasts that's enjoying this brisk, overcast, snow showery weather in late April. Too bad I can't just blink and fast forward to October 23rd.

We had some pea sized hail last night with a line of convection followed by a period of upslope rain and mangled flakes. Woodford reported 3.5" and Savoy 1.2" in the ALY PNS, so I bet my plot had 3" or so.

A nice batch of snow showers rolling through now with dendrites, not that heavily rimed styrofoam stuff (aka graupel) that we had earlier. Impressive.

You can count me in! In addition to what you wrote, I would add backdoor fronts, sheet drizzle, gales from due east, and low cloud/foggy/raw days. After the winter months, my second favorite time of the year.
