Morning AFD regarding Monday...

BY MONDAY STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP AHEAD OF AN
APPROACHING COLD FRONT WITH STRONG WARM AIR ADVECTION EXPECTED.
ECMWF AND GFS CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE IDEA OF UNSEASONABLY WARM
TEMPERATURES MONDAY WITH THERMAL PROFILES EASILY SUPPORTING 70F+
ACROSS THE CWA. IN FACT...PROGGED 850/925MB TEMPS HAVE NOT BEEN
FAR BEHIND THE LEVELS WE SAW BACK DURING THE RECORD SHATTERING
MARCH 2012 HEAT WAVE. LATEST ECMWF IS A BIT FASTER WITH THE FRONT
AND BLENDED MODEL GUIDANCE CONTINUES TO ONLY SHOW LOWER 60S...BUT
GIVEN THE 850/925MB CLIMO HAVE BUMPED UP HIGHS ABOUT 5F ABOVE
MODEL CONSENSUS BUT SUSPECT THIS COULD BE TOO COOL STILL WITH 70S
A DISTINCT POSSIBILITY. WILL NEED TO KEEP AN EYE ON RH BECAUSE
MOISTURE RETURN MAY BE LIMITED AND COULD HAVE FIRE WEATHER
CONCERNS MONDAY IF 70S ARE REALIZED GIVEN THE STRONG WINDS.

Upper 50s here today, as expected.  We had a 3-hr head start on the warming this morning due to having no fog, but today's northeast wind has kept the warming in check.  We should easily hit 60 the next couple days.  Most of the snow is gone from my yard, but it's a soggy mess that needs a few+ days to dry out.

Temps flirting with 70 in KY. Almost time for the AC!

What a crazy last 8 days it has been. Went from temps in the 60's to flooding rains to a historical snowstorm followed by near record cold followed by another heavy rain event followed by temps nearing 70.

What a stunning sky today. The bluest I have seen in a while.

Took these pics around noon.

Even though we soared to 55F today, Detroits first 50-degree reading since Christmas Eve, there still remains a fairly solid snowcover. Near the main roads its just piles, but backyards are still probably 85% snowcovered. Depth on avg 4-5".

snow melt has come to a crawl here after the really warm day a couple days ago.  Turned all the powder into more glacier type snow pack that is pretty resistant and reflective. MQT reporting 27" depth, up here in the higher terrain 36" still.

cut a path through the side yard to my shed, 39" meter stick measuring a solid 36" snow pack.

definitely a diminishing snow cover across MI
