hawkeye_wx and wisconsinwx are kindred souls

That is probably rare for him though to be coming up on the latter half of May without a severe storm.  Milwaukee has been under three warnings this year (my part of the county anyways), Chicago has had at least two, and with Cedar Rapids' more favorable location well inland and closer to Tornado Alley, it would be expected to see a few more big storms.

Haven't gotten acclimated to the warm/muggy stuff yet.    I ran outside yesterday and was gassed after 3 miles.  The numbers weren't that bad but it might as well have been 95/70.

That's how it is early in the season.

Then in late June/early June, something like 85/62 actually feels comfortable.

I played golf yesterday and didn't think it was really that muggy. It was actually a pretty nice day. Enough clouds and a stiff wind helped no doubt. Bottom line is that you're getting soft as you age. ;)

A couple severe thunderstorm warnings and a tornado warning(brief spinup sw of Cedar Rapids) have been issued for me this spring, but I haven't seen anything severe at my house.  I've seen a little pea size hail and a wind gust to about 50 mph, but it has mostly been garden variety stuff.  There is still plenty of severe season left so I'm sure I'll get something good.  The problem is from now on my garden will be full of growing plants and I won't want to see them damaged by hail or wind.

Although it's been a pretty nice day and I normally don't mind overcast too much, it just feels like one of those sluggish days. Temp has been stagnant for the last several hours, and after the last two active days, today has a totally different feel. Sun is trying to peek out now.

huh....?  I wouldn't say everything is blooming here yet.  It's waking up I'd say.  Frosted here until mid june last year.  It would take a real hard freeze to ruin much.

That is crazy. Here in NYS we have quite a diverse last frost date. April 20th is around our last frost where I live being relatively close to Lake Erie.

lol, golf is a little less taxing than running.

It varies but typically I've found the adjustment period for me lasts anywhere from 1-2 weeks.

Didn't say it was taxing. But my opinion was that I didn't think it was that bad for the first warm/humid day of the year. We'll agree to disagree.

This was the first week we had dewpoints in the 60s and not far from 70 yesterday.  It was fine just standing outside or not engaging in anything strenuous but any activity level above that takes a toll after a while when you're not acclimated.

^^^Clearly someone either hates their job in Alaska or is extremely bored with the crappy climo (can't blame them)...

Great find. That forecaster will either get fired or get an award.
