Very impressive sleet here in Dunwoody just north of Atlanta since ~1:45 PM! It is really starting to add up on the ground. I already had measured nearly 1" of IP as of ~11 AM. This is easily the most impressive part of the storm that I've observed to this point though I did sleep through some of it last night. Temperatures is at 28.8, near the coldest do far though pretty steady. Lots yet to go, folks!

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Charlotte and Raleigh both pulled Atlanta this afternoon. You see that major freeway south of Clayton to SE of Raleigh? Nobody use that road since it's very rural, yet there's traffic jam showing up in that area. What the heck?

Have to blame the employers, too. I told my boss it was snowing hard in Fayetteville and coming this way. She let us leave at 12:00, just in time. If we hadn't closed then I was going to leave anyway. Some employers just don't care. It is not worth it, though.

Yup, my wife's employers started the day on a 2 hr delay in Charlotte. Started snowing on her way into work. Covered the roads at 10. Her bosses said, "we will close at 12." At 11 I called and told her to leave, consequences be damned. She did. 2 of her coworkers that didn't have gotten into accidents. I am going to call her bosses and complain the next chance I get.
