I heard some guy criticizing him on CNBC and he made sense but since he probably gives away every year more than I make, I'm not the one to throw stones at him

Unless you make 3 billion a year I think he does. Some how I doubt you even make the .084  .

Hey, I resent that - we're in the rural triangle south of Braddock, 3-5 acre lots and I can legally hunt in the forest across the street (two years ago my neighbors took a deer in the woods behind their house and cleaned it in the cul-de-sac - yeah they are rednecks).  Ashburn, yeah, that is miles and miles of townhouses.   :)

That's awesome.

Even here in the closer suburbs, there's a place where guys deer hunt right down the street from a row of townhouses only a couple miles from me.  Bow hunting only, but they set up their blinds along a creek that runs under high-tension wires and get to it.

What's a good day trip from DC? Probably foliage related and somewhere I can bring my dog. Thinking of renting a car this weekend.

H20's Luray suggestion is a good one. It'll be really crowded probably (especially on weekends) but probably worth it. Lots of driving for good color. The crowds will probably be worse because of the shutdown ending.

Green ridge state forest in Alleghany county MD near Flintstone Md. Great views very little people. It's a hidden gem off I 68. Or go past Cumberland Md to Frostburg MD and go to Dans Rock off Rt 36. It's right on the Alleghany Front with trails and some awesome views down Into the Potomac river valley and US 220. Also before Cumberland is Rocky Gap state park. Gorgeous lake and hiking trail up Evitts Mtn. All off I 68 and away from the high tourist places closer to DC

Damn, Dave. It took you a couple hours to offer up a suggestion for Ian. you're slipping. $5 says there is a sheetz near all those locations you mentioned

It's what happens when typing on the phone. And yep there is a sheetz in Hancock md about 10 miles east of green ridge forest and a sheetz in Cumberland I believe it is at exit 42 or 41 so that's the closest to rocky gap and there is a sheetz off Rt 36 in Frostburg :)

Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV.  Elegant beyond belief and spectacular views.  Your girl would love it.  Must try Sam Sneads for dinner if you go. Has a small casino also.  Not cheap but as you are a man of means should be great.
