Exciting for about 2 minutes. Finally a garden variety storm to rejoice on. Lightning always hits a tower (protecting a natural gas substation) directly across the street, not this time. Scary now that I think about it. Not shelf or wall but still nice structure. Dropped .28" of deluge in 10 minutes. Bizarre that it was so small the sun was out for the backend just as it exited.

I don't want to start a debate but I really don't think those pictures are of a shelf cloud in the technical terms of definition. I might be wrong and please correct. Looked like a typical base to a non severe mini cell thunderstorm. Damn swarming scuds again. The first complex had some great mammatus clouds. Great photo op all around the area.

Near 0C temps at 850 tickling the US on the euro..lol.

Cool-shmool, Scott.  It's all about the dews. :)

That said, I'm going to cut the Rev some slack.  In spite of his over-hyping many things, he did get the early stretch of high dews correctly.  As far as the non-stop HH he was calling for, at least he went down swinging.

He had a 50/50 shot at being right.  Either it was going to stay around or not.  It stood around which is what he wanted and he looks right.  He gets a record high humidity stretch and the record high average temp for July at BDL, even though the highs weren't that high.  He did go down swinging and I give him credit for sticking by his guns.  I'm not sure why he's not posting...weather is weather.

He benched himself after going down swinging.
