He's stressing that the Bay was spared the worst because all week he's been talking about bad it would be if Sandy came up the Chesapeake.

He does have a blase attitude though and it sends the wrong message.

Yeah, his entire focus is that the surge won't be like Isabel. What he's not highlighting is the difference in winds and rain over the whole area in the other direction as compared to Isabel.

Like I said, not saying he is endagering anyone, just think he is missing the bigger picture.

Surge like Isabel has been off the table for days and days. Those Walllops Island landfall model runs never had a lot of support.

When I woke up and turned on channel 11, and thought "wow! Okay, sounds like I'll be driving slowly into work at 4pm."

After blinking my way through these pages, I've reverted to last night's thought of "crap, this is getting even fugly-er."

Just went out to get the paper. (laugh at my love of a dead tree if you wish, but I'll be laughing when we're all in the dark and your ereader is out of batteries. I'll be reading about this storm that's coming). Anyway, it was raining a good pace, but I was shocked how not windy it is. Not even breezy, just a few rustles of leaves. Very Erie, given what's coming.
