43 degrees this morning. Picked up 1.03” in the last 24 hours. Got new AC/heat split installed this week. Guess I get to try out the heat mode this morning. River is going up to 9.7 ‘ which is almost action stage.

There hasn't been plenty cold aloft since at least early March. I was in Vermont for 3 days (March 7-9), and it was 55+ each day. I knew winter was essentially over at that point. And that's okay, as sometimes, the coolest winters end abruptly. Look at 2010 (after February) and 2015 (after March), for example. 2010 had (at the time, it was broken only 2 years later) the warmest spring on record, and 2015 had a near record warm May. The Euro is also showing a torch pattern mid-month, coast-to-coast.

Upon further review, Cansips is progging a W to C based ~+2 to +2.2 ONI from SON through JFM. I’d assume that would mean ~+1.5 to +1.7 W to C based RONI. Nothing bad about that if it were to verify. But I’m taking it w/grain due to La Niña temp pattern, which doesn’t make sense per history.

From January scores done by Roger, February done by wxdude64, and March done by myself (just above) here are the standings as of the end of March. I hope this is all correct and this should become much smoother as we move forward. Bolded are the tops scores in each category. The asterisk is for months that were missed. We have quite the grouping going on and love to see newcomers each month. I will send out a message to folks about April who see missing thus far.

A bit unsure locally of threat for SVR, but nonetheless waves of storm chances will keep things pretty enjoyable throughout the next couple days.

my phone decided to show the wizards game scores on the lock screen. The Celtics scored 53 points in the 1Q. Guess no one was playing defense tonight.

Here is the March update. Denver and Phoenix experienced unprecedented warmth for the month of March and all of us were over +5 away from actual anomalies so it resulted in a score of 0. Until I can figure out how to do Roger's 60 rule for extremely anomalous temperatures we will have to keep these at 0. If you find any of these numbers to be off/wrong or I missed anyone please feel free to reach out. I will add the accumulated score through the end of March in a bit. I left out Consensus and normal for now as the way i calculated it (consensus) is slightly off to how Roger had it back in January/February.
