2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season
michaeljames replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Tropical Headquarters
With the Climate Prediction Center noting an 80% chance of El Niño for the peak hurricane months, the 2026 Atlantic season could be heavily influenced by these conditions. Historically, strong ENSO anomalies often lead to shifts in storm frequency and intensity. The discussion here provides a good perspective on how early subsurface signals can forecast seasonal hurricane patterns. -
Back down to 61 with the rain. Hoping we mix down some bigger gusts tonight. Lets get a fine line of convection after midnight to wreak some havok. Honestly though I'm hoping vs predicting. Gun to my head, and its you're typical 45-55 just below significant damage threshold for most outside of Eastern SNE. But here's to hoping.

Will those pass thru TSA???

Godspeed on your final journey Roger.

It’s picked back up here again in the last 30min. Quarter sized flakes mixing in at times but also some graupel as well.

When does the wind start?
-
This was at 11:30 this AM in Williamsburg, just outside of Traverse City. We had clear ground on Thursday morning. We've added another four inches since then and looking at maybe 6 more by the AM. Went out to snowblow and had to abandon it halfway through since I couldn't see through the snow. Had a fresh inch on the ground I had already done. Biggest snowstorm I have ever seen in my life.

My trash pick up was today, so cans went to the curb last night. They’re back by the garage now, so dodged that bullet. Still, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s straight-line wind damage as the front comes through later tonight. -
Narrowly escaped the jaws of death with this frontal passage. Fortunately, I prepared and did nothing. That was a close call.
