  1. Past hour
  2. Clobbering Frederick now, looks like its headed down I70 towards Ellicott City later. Maryland's 2 flood magnets of course.
  3. I got caught a little off guard on my 10 mile hike this morning. That sun came out and the heat index went nuts. It kicked my butt a little bit. Prime environment for big rainers for some.
  4. The lightning today is no joke with all the water and MLCAPE in the phase transition layer.
  5. New all-time highest MSL record set for Australia.
  6. 1.77” and constant thunder for 3 hours. 6.22” in July
  7. 1.20" so far here today. With the heavy downpours shifting south, we'll have to see if we get something more here way later.
  8. The dew point here has risen to 78F now. Yuck! Plenty of juice for storms (no rain here so far, temperature 85F).
  9. Fortunately, I've only had a few peeks down here. I don't think the sun has been out for more than 2-3 minutes at a time all day, and that has only been since 1pm.
  10. Pouring Here..but it will be over shortly. Then there’s a big open break before the cold front comes through later…and we’ll see what that brings?
  11. I guess we'll see what we get over here later... supposedly parameters are better out this way
  12. Very good point about DWKW generation now that the 30C isotherm is east of the dateline…. Highest on record for June:
  13. I generally agree, but I can't help but be in a "show me" mentality as long as the Euro seasonal seems so unimpressed with its forecast. I'd like to see it bust for the reasons stated, but only time will tell.
  14. So, mesocyclones but staying aloft? Is there any way to tell this apart on radar, maybe a certain tilt level?
  15. Finally raining....about .3 so far...!
  16. Oh wow, you’re missing a fireworks display. This is one of the finest lightening shows I’ve seen. Looking south it’s cg after cg.
  17. Close. I said that the deep layer shear favored the storms to rotate, but the low-level shear (which is needed to get the rotating storms to produce tornadoes) was fairly marginal.
  18. Yeah, was just going to post that. I have to believe there are some going to be 3-5" totals in the area south of 78 and along and north of I195 from this "first round".
  19. My youngest just got caught out in it driving. That tornado warning went up just south of my house. Looking at radar some heavy stuff went over my house. I am in DE and relaying stuff back to her.
  20. Storms training just north of 195
  21. I believe it was @high risk who said there was rotation aloft today... but that it was weak in the low levels
