I hope you’re right. Actually, I want a Bermuda High. The west coast needs precip anyway.

Cold day 34 here in midtown! Not loving the cold, if it's not going to snow anymore I want warm weather

I’ll be happy to monitor snow showers at home with a green beer in hand.

Central PA Spring 2026 Discussion/Obs Thread
ChescoWx replied to Voyager's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
Breezy and unseasonably cold weather today with some snow flurries possible this afternoon into the evening. There will be a hard freeze tonight so protect any plants that you may have put outside already. We will continue with below normal temperatures through Thursday (upper 30's to upper 40's) before we moderate to nearly normal both Friday and Saturday (low to mid 50's). Our next chance of rain or snow looks to possibly arrive on Friday night. We will fall back to below normal temperatures by next Monday. -

Anyone else tracking the potential snow showers this afternoon? HRRR seems insistent some make it over the mountains

Serious question....is there a way to disqualify reporting stations? That one clearly reports bad data.

I think there were more branches/limbs/dead trees down in my neighboorhood from this event than in anything since the 2008 ice storm (this was nothing compared to that)

Roger Smith, who ran our seasonal forecast contests, passed away
Windspeed replied to GaWx's topic in Tropical Headquarters
Oh no!! He will be greatly missed! Thank you GaWx for letting everyone know. Rest in peace, Roger. May your contests be forever eternal in the great beyond. -
Just a reminder for people who want to shorten it today and don't have a clue. That said, according to @BxEngine the Irish invented the greatest goodbye and that's all that really matters anyway.

Good please keep it there. 80 degrees in March is ridiculous and a little bit unnerving.
-
beautiful late winters day..
-
Just like the frigid March you promised, then we are breaking record highs

-Sd's near shore to -10's inland across N MN. Ash Lake -23, and Seagull Lake -21 up near the border are the lowest I've seen just with a quick look. Top 5 cold snap this morning. WAA event coming later today.

Light to moderate snow still falling at my house per my ring cams. Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro using Tapatalk -
It would be so fun to measure snow there for a full winter season, every 6 hours lol. My NWS snow stick goes to 40" which is plenty for 99% of places...but not your area!

Nice! Its too bad Wisp threw in the towel. Would have been nice to carve up the front side for a couple more days. At least mid season was rockin'.

Surprisingly I'm still get light flurries in this flow setup. -
Yeah, you know it's getting cold when structures start popping. My deck pops a lot when that happens, and when we have a svr cold snap for a longer period, my house starts to pop. Makes you jump its so loud. Have to replace some deck screws every few yrs because they break.
