We got real lucky last winter. There were some insane torches just to our west, especially around Christmas.

There's a huge blowtorch coming later this week well into November.  Euro AI showing mid to even upper 70s for multiple days. Lows only in the 50s.

Records will be shattered.

I don't know about shattered records but it looks warm. No real rain on any of the models out to 360. Let's do this...

Low 29.2  at my elevation

Low 24.9F  my nephew's house 1/2 mile away and 250 feet lower

Living at 1100 feet I was always curious what the temperature was at the bottom of my hill.  My nephew just bought a house 1/2 mile away at the bast of the hill.  I bought him a weather station and made sure it was accurately reading temperature before I set it up.  I ran it next to my Davis up here before installing it.  So it seems most mornings it runs about 5F colder on calm mornings.  It's fun to see the difference.  Of course it quickly catches up during the days.  This will also be interesting in the cold season.

38.2 was the low. Man what a microclimate

For sure…almost a 10 degree difference from me(29 for the low)to you. Still only 36 now. Very interesting.

Normal low for 10/24 at BDL is 40…so you were still below that number.

That Tolland municipal site is literally 2 minutes away down the hill on Tolland Green. My first house was there in town . It’s 650’ and sis between my hill and Bald Hill which is closer to 1100’ . They were 27 this morning while I was sitting at 38

Special place there. You still growing and blooming?

Was at my cousins yesterday in the Lordship neighborhood right next to BDR. Legit looked like summer there still. Full blooms everywhere. Neighbor had a full vegetable garden still going strong.

Serious question, when was the last time you tuned up your station and verified it was calibrated correctly. It wouldn’t change the overall issue but I’m curious.

I had to this past summer when there was a software issue  . It’s always been dead nuts accurate . In icing events for example  with zr involved. It’s simply an extreme example of a microclimate. Almost same elevation as ORH and typically very similar temperatures especially on fake radiating nights. I mean there has not been any frost this fall. Not on cars or rooftops

Very good. There you go calling it fake cold after complaining yesterday that people poke fun at you. Don’t hate on areas that produce their own cold while others need Canada to come to the rescue for their cold. It’s all weather.  :bike:
