I have a feeling there's going to be an extreme LES event this season. One of those 60-80"+ events. Warm lakes due to mild temps should yield some epic rates somewhere on the Tug. If you or anyone wants to come up. Be prepared to rent a snowmobile. I've got a sled connections right down the street. If the cabin isn't in the most intense core we will definitely be chasing on sleds. Core punching on sleds should make for an exciting time. This sounds incredible.

That was one of the most surreal weather experiences of my life. That squall and the drive home are engrained in my memory bank. A phenomenal day of snow and fun. I would do it again in a heart beat! @katabatic is an amazing host! 3

Let's hang out! I'm also thinking about buying one. You can travel all over Upstate NY on the awesome trail system they have. 4 hours ago, ravensrule said: This sounds incredible. Would love to catch some LES love. @WxWatcher007 and I have wanted to chase up there, and around Michigan too. Would be a ton of fun and not a whole lot of sleep lol We are totally into this. My last chase with @dailylurker the forecast for New York changed and I barged in his room at 3 AM telling him LET'S GO! The band forecast shifted 15 miles! Thank god you have the patience of a saint. @MillvilleWx you are so very welcome. Not only are you a kick ass guy, but you're also pretty damn good at explaining the nuances of weather to me. @dailylurker that squall was unbelievable. I posted a short video to the Garrett County Facebook page (one of them) and within a few weeks, I had over 4,000 views. I'm planning on this winter to be an overall torch but since we travel so well together, it ain't gunna matter much. We will hunt down the best snows and pile in the truck and say LFG! @NorthArlington101 you're welcome any time as well! It was awesome when you visited Garrett County that the two walks we took, it was snowing quite heavily on both. @WxWatcher007 you too! I'd love to meet up and with any luck, be buried up to our waist in LES. I am hoping we have more folks from our area chasing instead of armchair complaining that it's 40 and rainy and missed yet another storm chance. 3

Witnesses report a truck with Maryland tags driving through the blizzard with a half dozen sleep deprived crazy dudes making snow videos. " They had all the windows open and a bunch of Beethoven music blasting out. Crazy. They're not gonna be here all winter are they?"

Those crazy places are pretty remote and high elevation. The towns up in snow country Japan get 500" seasons. Some places near where I'm staying have received nearly 500" seasons. I think the last one was 1977 when the Plateau had nearly 500". That area also holds the world record for heaviest hourly rate. The Tug Hill is famous for insane snowfall rates. Blinding rates. The heaviest rates I've ever seen in this area was February 2010 maga snowstorm. The rates I experienced in Pulaski almost doubled that. It was literally jaw dropping.
