Are we lucky lol. Definitely had some funky cloud movement and green skies before the skies opened up. @Mrs.J looks like you're just up the road from me lol

Yes I saw those clouds. That wind when the line blew in was blowing so much that you could not see very far out the windows. Mr. J had just gotten back with our dinner before it all hit. The place we are staying is right along 1D. :D

Seeing a lot of tree damage pics from pasadena.

My mom’s house on the southwest side of town had minor damage and no power, worst missed her north. Rivera Beach area got hit hard.

I used to complain about Germantown being dry LOL.  It's got nothing on the full-blown desert that is southern Calvert.  Radar is now clear that no rain will fall here again today and it won't next week either.  We won't get real rain here until late fall when we start getting those nino-fueled Gulf lows.

Yeah, this pretty much sums up the last 12mo.  What a waste.

I'm not too far away off route 24. Haven't seen a storm like that in a long time. The lightning was insane!

@87storms you what you said about me missing the lightning… ah it is insane here and the wind just blew in howling.

It looked like the War of the Worlds from my balcony. Got some vid of some of the lightning. The humidity earlier felt tropical, so I’m not surprised the sky opened up like it did.

Same here - some sprinkles today -  0.00 today

Remains at 1.24 for the month...

The luck of the draw also dealt me a losing hand yesterday but this was a model loser since Thursday, therefore, I was not surprised.  NWS high probs. really don't count anymore.

Monterey received .92" and Marlinton W.Va. got 1.59".

Went back and got last years July total to compare to this July so far.

July 2025 2.73”

July TD 2026 7.76”

I know that Frederick seems to be the rain magnet to some but it usually is the Northern part of the county that gets the big totals. The Southern part, especially the SW portion has hit the jackpot this summer though.

What the hell is it with this precip split for Southern Maryland.  It's been all summer.  Rain north, rain south, black hole in the middle.  We better make up for it this winter.

With a raging east based El Nino? Don't hold your breath :frostymelt:

WOW you probably have more rain this month than I have for the year.  Terrible drought continues here with no end in sight.  Leaves are dropping now

Set a new record 'warm minimum' for the date of 69.7 degrees, old mark was 69.0 degrees from both 2015 and 2013. Wow it is incredibly muggy/humid here this morning with partly cloudy skies, 72.9/69.0 degrees at 7:50 am. A small thundershower rolled thru here about 3 pm dropping 0.03" and winds gusted to 28 mph, that was relief for about 8 minutes until it cleared and the mugginess/heat returned.

There was a fairly widespread area of 60mph+ returns on BWI TDWR from about MD10 eastward. A few pockets of 80. Not surprising.
