Each model has a different jackpot area which is typical in convective setups. It’s very hard to pinpoint exact locations. Most of the rain today and tonight will fall in a relatively short period. 
 

There’s also quite a high risk of microbursts today, like what we saw yesterday, hence the watch. Could also see an isolated tornado.

Almost all of Central NJ is under a severe thunderstorm warning now. 60mph wind gusts.

The stuff by state college could eventually get here in a weakened state later this evening otherwise things look tame for eastern sections. 

Flood outlook did a good job at highlighting eastern PA, central west and NW Jersey. Anyone east of 287 and south of 78 won't get much

Agree. Expect LI to get a quick hit from whatever is left over as the front slides east. Sorta like a transitioning tropical cyclone where the center passes west of LI, and we end up with very little rain, while inland gets crushed. Better dynamics, and terrain lift.

It’s the same people that call bust before an event even starts every time. They over analyze the radar instead of just letting things play out.

I think relative to what models showed yesterday this is more W-NW overall.  I think this initial around stays mostly Newark west now, its the activity post 22Z that may be more of a factor to the east.

I think our chance here is largely with whatever coastal storm develops. For today I agree the vast majority will be for NJ and Hudson Valley. Some of the modeling did get wetter east of the city today so we have to wait and see. But I’m not too optimistic.

This always looked to me like the max would be near Passaic/Bergen/Rockland Counties and I still feel that way.

I agree , the southern portion of the line isn’t expanding much and will probably miss NYC.
