ORH was also the previous record 33.0” in the 3/31-4/1 ‘97 storm and then 32.9” in the Dec 1992 storm before that. Ironically, I think the previous 14 years, the record holder was PVD again with that 28.6 in 1978.

Does Albany count?  Not SNE but largish east coast city.  Also Hartford had a ridiculous under measure in 1888.  Completely surrounded by 40-50” and the measure 17”.

For the record, this is me going out and measuring when I feel like it. If I had done it the NWS approved way, it probably would be less.

I believe the 40” in Fall River. Bridgewater down to Berkley and then Fall River were the meat of the meat in that band

I do the same. When I shovel, I measure.

My family lives in Bridgewater, multiple houses, all saying 40 is likely. Official measurement was too difficult, just going off the “I shoveled what I measured to be a foot, three times” science.

You actually don't care about the snow and a good winter, you care about winning.

I bet you were pretty pissed during the 14-15 winter and rated that an F too.

See.  You guys think you know me.  You don't.  I have Zero Complaints about 2014-2015 even though Boston had a Snow Depth of 45" while I had a max of 31".  I would give almost Anything for 2014-2015 again.  And only 1 of the 4 Storms gave me 24" where some people got almost 3 of the 4 to give 24".  Also I flew home and changed LA plans for the Blizzard of 2015.....  and it was worth Every Penny.

You guys just Continue, CONTINUE to Not understand the screwing I've been getting here for 7 winters, and especially this winter.

With what I've sacrificed over the years to chase These Rare Blizzards, I'm about to give up the Love and the Hobby.  This one has Completely Gutted me.  Once in a 200 year storm for RI, and I was 10 miles too far North and got Half, HALF of what they did.

A few photos of my effort to dig paths - had to squeeze out the side door and attack my front door from the outside, seeing as there was no way of opening it.  No way am I ever seeing 38 inches again in RI, or anywhere as the only place I plan to move is to a warmer climate upon retirement! :D

There are people on this forum who were forecast to get feet who got a few inches. That's a bust. Not your 19 inches.

Nobody gets to bitch about 19 inches of snow.

I'm only saying 19 because Everyone keeps telling me I Didn't get 16, as I have No proof of anything above about 17.  And Neon WHO CARES what rants I type on here.  It's TYPING hahaha.  I provide historical information in the middle of it usually, but Just Read On.  You don't have to stop and read.  I'm Not Coming to your House, opening your Window and Screaming at you.  And I Never Ever said I'm NOT HAPPY for You and Others!  I Am!  LOVE it so So much for @TauntonBlizzard2013 as well.  I'm So Happy for RI!  But when you are 10 Miles form 3 Feet, the Very Thing you've wanted YOUR WHOLE LIFE More than almost Anything, And you've Gone Through the Winter I have, and What I've Sacrificed to CHASE the Potential Big Ones, $1000's of dollars spent and $1000's in Cancelled gigs, and pissed off people to do it, on and on and on, All to Finally see a 3 foot Blizzard, and it's Finally FINALLY Right there...... I'm allowed to be Angry.

But the fact you couldn't Laugh at my tone on the video, and were Angry at it, tells me everything.  People CALL ME to Get me Ranting so they can laugh and relieve stress.  Literally Call me to get me going on various topics.  You guys in here want to call me every name in the book for typing.  I don't get it.

And I have about 12 Hobbies Neon, this is only 1, On top of my actual career.  I did the running around in the snow.  I Did the shoveling with neighbors and laughing.  I Did the sledding.  But you're not here with me, so stop Judging the posts which is 1% of my life here.  And Understand the mathematics of Why this storm has broken me.

And Again - It's Illegal for me to even Go Drive on TOP of it all?  Because Others got 2X my totals 5 miles from me?  Just adds insult to injury.  And the Loss of 1978's storyline which was what we in Cumberland and Woonsocket always had.

It's amazing how it seems like no one has ever met any Italians everyone is in here.  Even on my videos with Jubilee, the Comments are all "How Many Drugs does this guy take Before going on camera?"

Hamden, CT had a 40 burger in Feb 2013,  didn’t New Britain, CT have close to  50” in 1888?

That 40" was unofficial. Nobody knows how that was measured, even the local Mets found it suspect with the surrounding areas.

This. One of the best life lessons people can learn.

I'm ecstatic. This is the second 12"+ event here this season, and the first time I've had anything like that in over a decade. Sure, I didn't do as well as I'd hoped, but I'm happy.

I'm happy for everyone that cashed in.

Every time.

Funny how random strangers can share the same intense emotions, and conversely feel estranged from people immediately around them who don't get it.

The chase, the exhilaration as the unlikely breaks our way, the thrill of the event, the sleep deprivation... then it's over and mundane reality returns. I jokingly warned my wife earlier tonight that I'm having post-storm dopamine withdrawal.

Part of what keeps us coming back every year.

I don't know about you guys, but I always feel a little melancholy when a big storm is coming to an end. You just know it could be many years before you experience something like it again.

I don't feel that way about snow events, but when I'm chasing high end tropical, I've felt that afterward. Less that the storm is ending because it's so intense when you're in it, but to the point @wxsniss made, it's more about the chase being over.

I'll never forget coming back after hitting Helene dead center and I'm walking down this airport hallway alone in the middle of the night on my way back to the car. Just hours ago I was Superman, standing in the eyewall of one of the baddest storms to ever hit the U.S. and doing what very few people on the planet can do, and then the next thing you know I'm just a guy with a suitcase walking to his car.

Even with the letdown, I can't get enough of it.

Boston's highest depth of the 2015 Winter was 37.0" and also in 1978 in the northern half of Rhode Island was also deemed a 200-year storm at the time.
