I think today was a great example of the margins we lose. I'm at around 2 inches of snow and waited till 2pm for snow to start mixing into the rain. We run that back 2-3 degrees colder and I'm below freezing a whole hour or two ahead of time which is probably around an inch extra of snow. Now, to truly get this storm further we would need 5+ degrees colder to get it all snow from morning onwards.

What margins are we losing when eastern areas at low elevation are getting crushed, in a marginal cold set up!. There is always nuance to this stuff. The deepening low and its location in this situation favors heavy snow in places that normally get less, while places inland at elevation are struggling to accumulate. I need more explanation about losing margins. Otherwise it sounds like whiny BS.

An extra degree or two gives us like 3 more hours of accumulating snow.

Or perhaps just s tad nitpicky in terms of impact. If this snowfall would've been 3" instead of 1.5" I'm not sure it makes that much of a difference. Now, the argument is that losing an inch here or there adds up in the final snowfall tally of the season I can understand that.

P.S. I think we should all get a salty pass tonight...I mean the hecs is just NE...

At least it looks like some of the totals are getting cut for some of those north of us. Philly probably not getting a HECS. Debatable for NYC now.

I'm gonna call a bust for the western shore here.  If I wake up with 2" on the ground I'll consider that a success.  Juice def not worth the squeeze - lot of wasted model humping for me this past week.  From here on out I'll be limiting myself to tracking cherry blossoms.  Congrats to those cashing in on the norlun, enjoy it!
