Dave Curren of NJN12 news said that Newark officially met the blizzard criteria for at least 3 straight hours last night, so one less thing for me to opine about...

Indeed - they also met it again this morning I believe - so technically a two day blizzard verification.

I’m under a solid band now. Heaviest snow here since dawn.

Yeah getting crushed again here, band rebuilt over most of rockland. Not as heavy as the stuff at 6-8 am but gonna give us a few more inches before it shuts off.

We definitely met those conditions here too.

Looks like something trying to pop and drift across the sound.

From your lips to God's ears, but so far every time it looks that way the hole comes roaring back.  HRRR says we could get another inch, but it also says it should be snowing here now and it's not.  My total is 17", so not the worst skunking ever.

Nice reporting. My purely experiential eyeballing of the snow during that time was 17-18” :scooter:

One day I'm gonna submit my portfolio to all the weather outlets and NWS to try to be an official (not even sure thats how it works lol)

One of the few spots somewhat disappointed from this storm on a relative basis. Northeast Nassau - in between the bands. Probably finish with maybe 18” is my guess.

I’m hearing a 40 burger report in RI I think got too look at it again.

I believe it.  I held off posting about it earlier since I figured maybe it's not our forum area (wasn't sure), but was going to say that RI was under seemingly eternal dark green echoes which have been parked there for hours and hours and hours.  Only now is it looking like the west side of the state has lightened up a bit.

its happened to me too many times; those great long island storms in 2018 largely left me with crumbs....only one hit in late march...and the island got smoked with the jersey shore....

Could be worse.  I just got 17" of crumbs.  How did it go there?

i remember during the 2006 blizzard central park picked up 11 inches of snow in 3 hours..

I don't think anything will top February 2006 here. 28" and hours of thundersnow, those are still the craziest rates I ever witnessed. That was one of those rare NYC jackpots
