OBS: 1/25-26 Snow/Sleet

Lovely ride home from Hartford. Left about 6:30, hit the snow around Bridgeport and then it was white knuckle time. Wasn’t surprised at the timing but rather the ferocity right out of the gate. There was no build up, just an immediate storm. 
 

Saw two accidents, one of them a guy flew by us doing at least 60/65mph, and a woman shitting herself while her tiny car was out of control. The look of her face was pure fear. Few cars spun around. Fun ride. Still got back in a little less than 3 hours. Hunkered in now.

Its become too windy here to get accurate readings in my front yard. We had 3 around 9.

4.25 new in central Morris County. Temp steady for the past hour at 9.4F. In a bit of a precip. lull relative to earlier. Still probably 0.75mi vis.

The lul lasted 6 minutes,now its heavy again. A foot is a 80% lock now across nyc.

Snow in the teens is a beautiful and rare sight around these parts. It's been pretty light the last half hour or so but looks to be about, maybe, 3" here just eyeballing it.  Looking forward to the heavier stuff a little later but that will also be a sign that the mix line is approaching.

Yea was just looking at a live webcam in DC and definitely saw flakes flying

Where are you in Morris? I’m in Chester. We are easily hitting 12+ in my opinion. It’s 6 degrees here with heavy snow. I measured 4.5” just now.

You think we hit 12? I’m just over 4 but hard to get an exact measurement with some of the wind the last hour. Heaviest snow of the storm right now.

Yeah - we are getting rocked in Riverdale. Ratios are incredible. I would imagine 1 -2"/hour rates for the next 4-5 hours. 12-14" wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Let's do it! Bronx would seem to have a better shot. I figure we have at least 3 more hours of clean snow and then several more with possible snow/sleet mix. I feel slightly more confident about double digits. Ratios are decreasing unfortunately.
