Appreciating Each Other/Poster Compliments

Thought this thread could be a good way to make our forum a bit of a nicer place! Basically the gist is to tell another poster (or the community in general) something that you appreciate about them/generally be nice to them. You can pick as many or as few people as you want. Additionally, if picked you don't need to feel pressured to respond or anything.

I'll start off by recognizing @NorthArlington101 for being supportive of the newer posters on here as without him I might've quit this forum a while ago. Additionally, he is a chill guy who's helped me with UVA and stuff. Additionally, I'd like to @ @bncho for being a newer poster here who's already starting to add to our community as it's always nice to have more people interested in our hobby. Finally, I'd like to thank @Eskimo Joe for all of his analysis this year and general less pessimistic outlook than years past as his increased presence this year has been part of the reason that I feel our forecasting ability is higher than in years past. Of course, honorable mention to Terpest, Cape, Psu, MillivilleWx, WxUSAF, WxMeddler, and more for dealing with all of my (and others) questions about storm setups to help our whole subforum become more knowledgeable!

I'm genuinely surprised that I've been mentioned here. Thought I provided nothing but here we are.

Today I'll be thanking @SnowenOutThere.  Firstly, thank you for creating this thread. This forum definitely needs something like this, and maybe the other subforums can take a hint from this. Secondly, I would like to applaud you for your amazing posts. You're a top 5 poster IMO. The quality has improved rapidly, and whenever you post I learn a lot from you. And lastly, thank you for being so supportive of me by putting up with my BS. It's really helped me to find a place in this forum.

Great idea! I'll give my early shoutout to @katabatic - who's been working with me to plan a little meetup/snow chase for this weekend. Appreciate his hospitality and look forward to meeting him soon, unless it turns out we're expecting more snow in DC than DCL :devilsmiley:

We work as a team. You'll be seeing me as well lol. Katabatic is a great guy. We had a blast on our last chase. He's become a lifelong friend. I look forward to you joining us at Snow Camp! I like everyone here. I even really like JI. I'd let him join me on a chase. No complaining on the Tug Hill though lol

I hate you the most tho.  And we all know why.

Is it because I can swim?

Dont worry. I’m trying to be better and turn over a new leaf. I don’t want you to go nuclear on me

You contribute more than you know. I've been meaning to ask if you are thinking about studying meteorology--you seem to have a natural understanding of things!

I'm definitely thinking about it... I've still got three years until college, though, so I'll see where life takes me and reassess throughout the next 36 months

No judgement, but wondering how are you able to post so often during school? Are you on a phone or laptop?

It's a fair question. I'm often on my school-provided laptop, so when I finish my work I usually pop in here.

He can also get things much lower in height thus saving our bad backs, win!

Ahh, you guys are great. Like everyone else here, I'm a snow weenie. Unfortunately that has meant driving (or flying) long distances to experience it firsthand. We are close enough in the MA to be in the game but rarely score. So, experiencing these chases with other like-minded people makes it so much better. I hope that as future snow seasons are upon us, we form a bigger and bigger chase group. @dailylurker and I, not having met in person (but texting constantly), had a great time in New York - he did his thing and I did mine while still hanging out a lot. And we nailed it - close to 100 inches over 4-5 days. Best of all worlds and I invite everyone to consider joining future chases.  @NorthArlington101 we'll hit Davis for a bite, Canaan for some tubing and Blackwater Falls for a little hike in the snow this weekend. Anyone else up for it? We're all here because of our love of weather. Just treat each other as you would seeing a map w/a 979 right off the coast of Norfolk with a 1048 over Ontario and a big ass Greenland block.
