Side story, I almost bought a cabin in Redwood 2 years ago. Bailed at the last minute realizing if its a weekend getaway, thats a 9hr ride on a Friday night. Add in trying to get thru snow and into the cabin after being on the road 9 hours. Then having to leave on a Sunday morning to come home. Just doesn't sound fun to this old man. Now if I actually lived there year-round? We'll, that might actually work.

If I got one it would be staying weeks at a time although deep creek sounds a lot easier

Airbnb. I'll be there by Hopefully noon tomorrow. Once I reach NY I've got to decide if I'm going to punch through the streamer while it's over Syracuse or go around it. It's going to drift north from there and stall over our target area. We're flexible. We'll dump our location if it doesn't look to jack. The goal is to get into the maximum carnage. I've got a 4×4 truck and I'll punch it into the core. This ain't a camping trip. It's a storm chase.

One of these days I will be able to snow chase like you guys. Technically I can. I'm off until the 6th. However, I JUST came back from Niagra Falls. lol  Oh, and I drive a mini van. lol

Oh, that means nuthin'. I drove an '02 Pontiac Montana to VT/ME three times to go skiing/snowboarding. First trip it started snowing at Albany and Smug and Stowe got 14" that day as we drove in. I had to hit the parking lot three times before I got the van up into the timeshare space lol. Second trip was the one where it was like -15 degrees with 20-30 mph winds at Jay one day. Snowed there all 4 days with the Jay cloud. Little better at Sunday River the third year, only 0 and little wind.

Hell yes. I went to college at the university at buffalo. I very frequently LES band chased to the southtowns. So worth it. Dated a girl who went to Oswego. I’d go out there too when I could swing it. No shame in my snow chase game

Having chased a lot in Oswego County while at Syracuse I strongly recommend you stay off I-81 through Oswego County and take Rt. 11 instead.

I-81 can get blocked by stuck trucks in heavy snow conditions and the exits are FAR apart so you won’t be able to turn around. Rt. 11 will be passable with any decent SUV regardless of how hard it’s snowing

In this day and age, I will gladly take any snowfall and be happy. I am not getting any younger. LOL However snowfall brings the kid out in me.
