Rain for the past hour or two has finally now begun its transition to snow here in Blacksburg. Once it goes to snow, it'll come down fast.

Radar looks really good up in parts of northern Virginia right now! There is a lot of precip to the west heading straight east to the DC region. Might want to break out those shovels. This might turn out to be a surprize overperformer!

One thing you guys need not worry about this time around: dry air. There isn't very much of that, just plenty of incoming moisture for snow.

Just had a good night delivering. I think that this might mean you guys are about to have good day snowing. And accumulating.

Yep, white. Started as all snow here, although it did warm up a bit late overnight. Went to bed a little past 1 am at 28.0/26.3 and currently 32.2/29.8 with moderate snow.

light coating on grassy/elevated surfaces. Steady but pretty light snow with tiny flakes. 33 degrees now - had a weird temp spike just before sunrise but it has come down since then.

Ditto. I bottomed out at 25.9 about 2 am, then rose to just above freezing at 5 am. Luckily started as all snow here, had 0.5" OTG at 7 am CoCoRaHS report, but it has really cranked up since with big quarter to half dollar sized flakes and I'd say we've passed the inch mark. Temp down to 31.5/30.0 at 7:30 am. Sticking to everything like the last snow, beautiful!

Per MDOT cameras looks like some flakes flying in western Charles County.

The cold air force field was modeled well, far southern MD and the lower lower eastern shore should see some light accumulation but other than that cold and windy

At UVA and we have solid moderate heavy snow with nice medium sized dendrites. They canceled class all day too!

This is so much of a moister atmosphere when compared to friday. This is all steady, accumulating snow

You’re in a great spot looking at radar. UVA got luckily with some good banding Friday so I doubt we reach those totals but either way I’ll enjoy today!

Off topic but have you ever gone to flag ponds nature park in calvert? North of the cliffs so worse for snow today, but gorgeous trails with huge trees, and less people.
