Had chicken and taters for dinner last night, so that determined this morning's late lunch/brunch. Tater cakes, bacon and toast with homemade blackberry jam. Or, as I refer to it when I make it, the biege/tan meal.

Oh, this is not banter, lol. Looks like snow has lightened up a good bit in last 15, we may be done here. Still below freezing at 29.0/27.9.

Takes that back, snow has picked up and on radar a decent batch to my west to push thru, I'll wait a bit. WAS gonna measre and send in a snow event total to NWS Blacksburg, maybe later. Eyeballing where I've cleared earlier guesstimate 1.5 has fallen since 7 am.

Early-December sun angle is doing a number on the sidewalks and roads here in Burke. They were covered only an hour ago. Now they’re completely clear.

1.5” as of 9:45 am…

That plus we had full sun on bare ground yesterday. A lot of the four-inch soil temperatures on the mesonet sites yesterday were around 40 degrees. This morning, many have cooled off into the mid to upper 30s. The next storm will accumulate more effectively, IMO.

LWX cancelled the WWA for Howard last night before it started and I think they should have let it ride given the overlap with the morning commute…

There was fairly steady contraction in the virga hole on the north side of KLWX which is upstream of even northern MoCo/HoCo. The signs were there that it was gonna do the thing.

I wonder if NWS  could consider splitting Frederick county MD into two zones.  Weather in north near  PA line usually gets it worse but today the south portion did and the county was caught with its pants down.  I'm sure doing that would be a bureaucratic nightmare but they should consider it.  Today was a perfect example why.

I always figured it would be easier to split north/south along US 15.
