2 degrees at the house this morning. Minus 1 in Southwick. Snow pack certainly helps

We not far off at 5F with no more pack, legit cold. I think the CT area is around -15 differential for the month.

8.6 should do it.

There’s something so very special about single digits two weeks in a row on cracked bare  ground

If you squint hard enough, the frost looks like a dusting. Take that as a win

06z does get SE area with a few inches. But yeah, this one is currently all over the place on guidance.

It’s a shame the pattern isn’t less* progressive because that shortwave is really mean. Really close to a large event for coastal sections. The euro 12/00z runs are flopping with its 6/18z runs. I imagine it’ll probably settle into something over next 24 -36 hours

-18.2F.

This is absurd for 12/9.  Like 35+ degrees below normal.  Relative to normal its like an 18F low in mid-July.

SLK, HIE, BML all at least -20F or lower.

Yep.  9 F here with -4 wind chill in Central MA.  This is the kind of cold we normally see in the coldest week of January, not early Dec.  Lots of water main breaks in my area in the past few days...gotta wonder if it's related.

At least tomorrow the cracked ground will be wet by rain !

You have to wonder if Boston and Providence can finish the month with -10° departure from  normal with above normal precipitation and zero snow to show for it?
