Obviously northern MO is not ideal I was just making a point about temperature. Personally I'd choose Denver or maybe Buffalo, New York for the most ideal climate.

No MO would be ideal for winter. You can get snow and tors in the same storm at same time

Oh yeah that would be fun! What a mindf*** that would be. I heard of a town that was hit by an F4 tornado and then later that day a blizzard. Or maybe it was the other way around.

Denver is not really exciting aside from rapid temp changes. You may get the ocnl supercell in June.

Buffalo will melt snow in 2 days, but maybe you’ll see 5’ in the south towns. Is and then.

I've heard that Denver gets snowstorms in April sometimes? Rapid temperature changes and extreme in heat and cold. Sounds pretty exciting to me.

There will be more blizzards in the next 10-20 years. less frequent, but possibly more violent? wheres George to chime in

Blizzards are not that frequent anyway…but we’ve had a lot over the last 25-30 Years. I don’t think we can say they’ll be less frequent after the run we’ve just had. But whatever.

Ya, this is what I was thinking too. Outside of the LES snow belts, and U.P. , New England sees more average snow imo than the Midwest in most cases.  Maybe I’m wrong…but that’s how I understood it.

Yeah I think that’s right. I know I kid occasionally about the San Diego stuff but here in SNE we can do severe, tropical, cold, heat/humidity, and snow. Most of the time it may be quiet, but when we hit we hit.

Couldn’t agree more Don. It can, and certainly has been quiet of late…but we’re due for some action.  And I think it’s coming this winter…

I hope so too. Just wish we knew when the next extreme event will hit. I get so bored that I started tracking obscure records like "Days which recorded 100% rh throughout the entire day at KPVD". Very few days have done that surprisingly but it's gotten to the point where I look for any bit of excitement I can get.

I don’t know…I don’t think the Midwest is as cold as you are saying it is? Maybe far northern Minnesota and The U.P. of Michigan , and far northern North Dakota sure, but other than those places I don’t know. But everybody likes different aspects of storms, so it’s all good.

Chicago routinely goes below 0 every winter.  About 2-3 years ago they were close to -20F.  And that's the southern lakes area.

Some of us love a big snow followed by no obstructions to life until the next one.  For that-Denver but Boulder is higher and considerably snowier.  Buffalo is better in my view.  Gritty town on the way back up with tons of snow.

A nice August morning out there as we extend the warm season.

It's 63 here ...

What little wind is actually slacked off and even though the sun's angle is pretty ablate  ( OH, heh...right, today enters the solar minimum - for the next 91.25 days until we exit Feb 8-10th) it feels quite warm.

After a few days of 50/27, this feels more balmy than it is ? adding to it anyway
