Same sentiment here. Happy for those south of the VT border finally cashing in, but just a bit to freshen things up would be nice.  Seems like storms with the right airmass to get both a northern and southern NE hit is a thing of the past.

Be nice to see an old fashioned storm go from Hatteras to Gulf of Maine giving everyone from Virginia to northern Maine a good snowstorm and with a legit cold air mass in place. It has been so long.

Wiz probably commented on this earlier i've been real busy with stuff so i haven't read through the pages but the 6Z GFS BUFKIT was pretty drool worthy for some points in CT. This is HVN pretty insane lift in the DGZ for a short time and it goes bonkers with some -50 to -60 ubs showing up in the omega. 12Z was obviously much more tamer with that hole over CT.

A quick Google search brought this up: "Issued for sustained or gusty winds of 35 mph or more, and falling or blowing snow creating visibilities at or below ¼ mile; these conditions should persist for at least three hours."

I wasn't aware that there was a temperature criteria.

There might be times where it’s below 1/4SM and windy, but I don’t think they’ll issue a BW.

AFAIK, they never had temp criteria for blizzard conditions. Not in the past 20 or 30 years anyway.

They used to a long time ago before that. I am pretty sure that old criteria was sub-20F.

Wow, yup might just forget the past 2 years for a few hours of that...add some lighting in there and call it a season...let's just hold that for 2 more days

Correct-probably until maybe 40-50 years ago?  MY entire formative years had the sub 20F criteria.  We met it 12/11-12, 1960 and very close 3/3-4, 1960.   I think the Feb 1967 storm did it and I guess by 78 the criteria changed.  I was in LA and I'll go to my grave with the disappointment of missing that storm.

That’s a mauling for central and western CT. Wow.  Fun to look at.
