JerseyWx
Approaching 4.50" here. Just an insane day. There were at least half a dozen bursts of heavy downpours throughout the day, but between 4:15 and 5ish we just got absolutely hammered. Definitely up there with some of the heaviest rain I've seen. Still a ton of moisture headed up this way...kind of hoping the next few days are misses IMBY because the local flooding will just get worse.

Not counting on it though. The storms in Suffolk are 30-40 miles or so east of me.

winterwx21
The batch that looked so intense as it moved into western NJ weakened somewhat. Decent downpour here now, but nothing to write home about. It'll be interesting to see if it can hold together enough to give NYC some decent rain. The new run of HRRR says it falls apart before it gets to NYC. Wxoutlooksblog
Here they come Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau. Our turn has arrived. Still plenty of lightning and thunder with these even though they're slightly weakened from an hour earlier. They still pack a punch. Looked great in PA, but as you said too late for us. But at least it held together just enough to give NYC a little downpour. I got only .18 from this late night rain. Thankfully I got the very heavy downpours during the afternoon.

As you said it looks like 2 more days of storm chances, and then it drops to a slight chance for late week. I see tonight's CMC has almost no activity for thursday and friday.

jm1220
Zippo again. Maybe a brief shower but now everything’s well east. Until something organized can get together and charge east/north we’re screwed here in this pattern. And even those attempts have failed 2-3 times now.

greenmtnwx
This summer basically never got started. Are there any signs that we break into a real summer pattern any time soon? Hot, sun, beach, pool weather. The 85-95 with sun for an extended stretch, pool temps warm and you can go to the beach with a confident hot and sunny summer day type weather?

One of the features of this event was the gradients in precip amounts over short distances. The map from Mt. Holly posted above clearly shows that. In my situation a station a mile to my east received an inch more than I did.
