I love it lol.  Being that I'm right up against the base of the Catoctins...I'm all in on this upslope situation.  MIcroclimates might be underrated in this region.

I do approve of the storm motion of that cluster near and east of DC. Hopefully it continues to expand.

Best nocturnal lightshow up my way in years!

After the main show while looking at some video we started hearing more thunder and went for another round just before midnight.

Finally finished processing long videos on youtube.

The first round (time at money shot, as everyone loves bolts!):

Then the second storm, this view facing south:

The audio quality is quite nice, headphones highly recommended!

And just a few minutes ago, after checking radar I thought why not, checked the tower PTZ and sure enough that anvil is firing bolts into clear air!  I've only seen this from airplane windows.

Amazing nocturnal activity for September.

Incoming.

3 different rounds of storms last evening and overnight. Don’t think it amounted to a ton…nearby PWS says 0.36” although I expect CoCoRAHS will show more. Still a good drink for the plants. Let’s do it again today!

Put that second one on a loop for sleeping!
