My car stalled when i was driving home from work this morning

Luckily I got it to started up again pretty easily, so hopefully no lasting problems but I saw some other people that weren't so lucky....

Rainfall totals here are just about 4 inches now

Surprised to see branches down when I went to the store. The wind has been gusty at times but generally not to strong. I have had 3.25 inches of rain from Elsa and including yesterday 4.03 inches.

Looks like the center of Elsa is near the middle of the south shore of Long Island.

The two areas socked so far look to be northern Nassau and NW Suffolk. Radar estimates around 5” between both events. My backyard will be a mud pit when I get back later.

My barometric pressure is 1003 or 29.63 inches. Elsa barometric pressure was, I believe, about 1006 yesterday. So some intensification does seem to have happened.

Must of had some very localized cell that came over my area just before 6AM. Had a couple gusts over 50 and sustained in the 30s for about 10 minutes which is wild because my station is at a height of 23 feet but the house in general is sheltered from good wind readings.  My two closest official stations at FRG and the mesonet at wantagh didn’t show it. However, two other weather flow stations within a mile of me had the same thing
