I always wondered what our winter temps would be like if we just sat in our own airmass. No injections of cold from the north or warmth from the south. I think this is just slightly cooler then what you would get as we do have a little northerly component to the flow.
wdrag
like the zzzzzzz that's what it seems to be for awhile. I did run our family cars (lucky to have two) through the car wash the past two days, in anticipation of little or no qpf for about a week or so. Good to get other stuff done now.

Yanksfan
We just have to face the facts that in all likelihood this will be the 3rd consecutive winter where the PAC refuses to cooperate despite the overall pattern as a whole reshuffles each ensuing winter. This winter season would hurt the most with a -NAO and we still can’t cash in. Just mind boggling.

People have to stop posting about the stupid SSW. They rarely work for our area. Majority of the cold always end up on the wrong side.

etudiant
People are expecting too much. Forecasts have many dimensions. Not all of them eventuate. Here in Manhattan, we had a forecast of a potential Nor'easter for this time about 10 days ago, did not get the snow and precip, but a lovely sunny day with healthy north winds. I'd call that a solid B forecast, the direction was good, the details less so, but we all know the devil is in the details.
