closing in on an inch here.  the drought drama is a little much.  it's aesthetic.  yes, it's sad to lose an old tree or have a brown lawn, but we are in no danger whatsoever in regard to what we really need water for: drinking, bathing, fighting fires, etc.  It is an impressive statistical drought but i think we harp on it a little too much.  even in these "severe drought" conditions it is pretty green around here, and even when there isn't rain, there is frequent morning dew this time of year.

We need one of those famous 10"+ months that were more common from 2003 to 2011 to erase the rainfall deficit we are still in.
