bristolri_wx
Big lull in large areas of CT, RI, and SE MA right now, but it looks like precip should fill back in within a few hours... things are blossoming Ny/NJ...
bristolri_wx
BOX doesn't seem "confident" with their snowfall forecast... ".NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... OVERRUNNING LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL PERSIST THROUGH TODAY INTO TONIGHT ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND WITH A FEW LOCALIZED ENHANCED AREAS...ESPECIALLY IN EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS WHERE ENHANCED MESOSCALE PRECIPITATION IS ANTICIPATED FROM A COASTAL FRONT AND ASSOCIATED LOW LEVEL WIND CONVERGENCE AS WELL AS LOW LEVEL FRONTOGENETIC LIFT. THERE MAY BE SOME OCEAN ENHANCEMENT AS WELL ACROSS EASTERN PLYMOUTH COUNTY...ALTHOUGH THE LOW LEVEL LAPSE RATE LOOKS MARGINAL TO SUPPORT THAT. MODELS ALSO SUGGEST THAT MON 12Z TO 18Z MAY BE THE PERIOD OF HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION FOR MOST LOCATIONS. DUE TO THE PREVALENCE OF MESOSCALE FORCING...CONFIDENCE IN THE FINAL DISTRIBUTION OF TOTAL SNOWFALL IS NOT ALL THAT HIGH BUT THINK IN THE END THE HIGHEST TOTALS SHOULD BE IN EASTERN MA AND POSSIBLY VERY HIGHEST IN PLYMOUTH COUNTY. TEMPERATURES ARE A LITTLE TRICKY GIVEN THE STRONG GRADIENT ACROSS THE COASTAL FRONT. ANTICIPATING TEMPERATURES TO RISE ABOVE FREEZING ON MARTHAS VINEYARD AND BLOCK ISLAND LATER THIS MORNING BUT THEN FALL BACK BELOW FREEZING BY THIS EVENING. WINDS SHOULD BE STRONG ENOUGH WITH GUSTS 30 TO 35 MPH ALONG THE EASTERN MA COASTAL PLAIN AND THE WATER CONTENT OF THE SNOW LIGHT ENOUGH FOR SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING. && .SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM TUESDAY/... THE 00Z NAM AND TO A LESSER EXTENT THE 00Z GFS INDICATE THAT AT LEAST LIGHT SNOW MAY PERSIST MOST OF TONIGHT ACROSS EAST COASTAL MASSACHUSETTS...ALTHOUGH THINK ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS WOULD GENERALLY BE NO MORE THAN AN INCH OR TWO. THE REST OF THE REGION SHOULD HAVE SNOW TAPERING OFF TO A FEW FLURRIES DURING THIS EVENING. SUNSHINE SHOULD BECOME PLENTIFUL DURING THE DAY TUESDAY...ALTHOUGH PERHAPS NOT UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON OVER THE CAPE. A CONSENSUS OF GUIDANCE WOULD PLACE HIGH TEMPERATURES TUE IN THE UPPER 20S AND LOWER 30S."

He showed me a pic of his all-time weenie event, April 97 and he's standing there with a 3ft piece of strapping because he couldn't find a tape. Unprepared weenie. I don't even care about totals anymore, plenty of snow otg, I really don't care that somebody E of me has more as there is a nice 12+ snowy hours ahead and as I look out the window the driveway spotlight says SN/SN+. I'm heading out to play. Enjoy everyone! Yup....I forgot we got a storm. lol Don't know. Maybe 15? Gonna go to work soon. That's awesome--great winter for you! moneypitmike
The accumulation totals in my PC tally to 3-7 additional. We'll see how that goes. Meanwhile, it's a nice looking ribbon moving in along the MA/VT line. That'll be a help in achieving that additional.

weathafella
BOS limping to totals on one leg. Probably 10-12 next reading at 7, 15 at 7pm, verification of 18-24 tonight, and a nearly 2 foot event having a 4-8 appeal outside of the south shore. Still fun and ridiculous snowpack now. Radar still looks like Swiss cheese but that stuff in western ct will be interesting if it hold up and makes it here.
