LOL @ the power companies down here. How the hell are people already losing power near a major city? I don't even remember the last time a storm knocked out power in Boston. I think It had to have been 5+ years ago.

if this hit as the weenie dream up there they'd have lost power for 2 months

71 degrees, humidity 94% (really?), winds sustained around 10-12 mph with a few gusts up to 25-30 mph, rain steadily transitioning from light/moderate, to moderate/heavy at times. Here's a 40 second video of a squall that just went through MBY about 30 minutes ago -- wondering if I might lose a few of those rain and wind-bowed myrtles by daybreak: http://bit.ly/pJbwc8

northern Prince Georges County in central Maryland...

northeastern Stafford County in northern Virginia...

southeastern city of Manassas Park in northern Virginia...

City of Alexandria in northern Virginia...

include most of the Washington metropolitan area... Woodbridge and

Savage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are possible in the

warned area.

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into

areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually

deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful

enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded

roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

How is it down there? Got your boats out yet? Looks heavy on radar.

Back here, we occasionally get a band that breaks loose. When they come, the rain is heavy. It just doesn't last long.

Edit: Up to near half an inch here. Wasn't expecting much. Hopeful of 1 inch total.
