July 2025 Obs/Disco ... possible historic month for heat
Damage In Tolland replied to Typhoon Tip's topic in New England
Are you taking models verbatim of stratified rain in mid summer? This isn’t winter where everyone gets some -

July 2025 Discussion-OBS - seasonable summer variability

That being said it could also end up as a usual big nothing east of the city if the initial warm frontal rain goes north, then the cold frontal storms do the die out as they head east from the city on Fri AM. That would leave LI as the screw zone. -
I need rain so hope we get it.
-
Only 0.42" from the first two waves this morning, but just had a slow-moving thunderless shower dump over an inch in a half hour. Up to 1.56" for the day, 6.99" for July. MLI and DVN are both well over 9 inches for the month now.

Lot of similar days here with towers going up almost directly overhead but not dropping their load until they move a few miles off to the south or east. Whats stranger is how the NWS didn’t predict this stratiform defo-band. Crazy how they still weren’t mentioning it in their last discussion. Maybe it was supposed to be over I-94 instead, but you’d think they’d be looking at the radar.

Isn’t that 0.50”+ across all of CT on that map? I like your area… maybe not for jackpot but for high probability of rain. -
He literally needs to move a mountain. Or move.

He's a harder case. His luck is very volatile. @EastCoast NPZ whatever you did during the month of May clearly worked out for you. Try that... at least to start.

Maybe it’s the GRAF. I don’t disagree some steady stratified rains there but not sure that’s jack. -
A more in depth look at the issue available here (as a review of the book "The Price is Wrong"): https://repository.law.umich.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=14174&context=mlr The book itself is a good read.
