Still some crying and whining here for some reason, despite the fact this has been a great and active spring, as well as being one of the warmest springs of the 21st century thus far. Sure, a few cool days next week, then average (to even slightly above) returns next weekend and beyond. Cry about it ig.

Today was the earliest ever 91-degree high at PDX (Portland, OR). This beats the previous record by three days. Pretty odd to have a heat advisory on May 3rd. -

Went up to the summit of Pack Monadnock on a whim this afternoon. Some nice views. Could see the Boston skyline, Monadnock, and in the second picture, if you zoom in, the Presidentials (I think) and Mt Washington

It got to 33 here this morning. I had everything covered and may need to once more. I normally wait until May 7th to plant but this year, pulling the trigger early has me doing extra work.

The winter moth (tiny green caterpillars) came out today . All over the place with silky webs flying in the wind and can see the tiny holes in the not all the way out Oak leaves that blew down and squirrels are chewing portions of limbs off with the low acorn yield last fall. . Each year the winter moth caterpillars volume has increased over the last few years, so hoping this year they really hammer the Oak leaves to kill as many trees as possible .

48/25 is apparently dry enough to get frozen down here… graupel and mangled chunky flakes for a 3 minute shower. Dog came in with frozen pellets on her back.
