That’s the way of it. Best snow pattern in May lol

Looks like warmer times may lie ahead with a shift in the longwave pattern showing up on the ensembles.

Well stated. It really was that kind of day. Great fire pit night. -

You said that about May. How's that looking?

Soon we are due to go negative AMO. Keep in mind soon is measured in years. Here is a smoothed chart from an energy climate page. Yes, some energy companies acknowledge it. We better, if our demand forecasts are going to be worth anything. Then the PDO has been a little flaky. It faked out cool phase a few times since 2000. Will it be able to hold? Perhaps the warmer background makes it harder to stick. So, I'm very curious how the AMO goes in the coming decade. Both negative could be epic winters!

I took a little Sunday drive to South Pittsburg, Tenn. No it's not far. South Pittsburg shelfies! Separately thank you to all Veterans to who serve(d). Especially we remember those who are fallen for our freedom.

It looks like our first real window is starting to show up on guidance in the first or second week of June. Climatologically favored areas in the western Caribbean or Gulf.

Yeah at a certain point there is now where left to put the cars. I was just thinking this would be a pretty epic pattern in winter. A nice snow storm Thursday followed by days and days of heavy snow squalls.

Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change
LongBeachSurfFreak replied to donsutherland1's topic in Climate Change
The lowering elevation through melting of ice sheets like west Antarctica and Greenland is powerful feedback. Could easily runaway and rapidly takeoff. It’s the type of feedback that is unstoppable regardless if we prevent further warming. -
I saw all the roads were closed approaching Jones Beach.

Hoping for some severe tomorrow, big storms today in W TX, some with tennis ball hail. Biggest threat tomorrow here looks like wind, but big hail possible too especially west of Austin. I remember Memorial Day 2015 very well living here, flooding all over the city and it’s when Wimberley SW of here was practically wiped off the map. May 2015 was catastrophic for much of the state.

What in the sam hell ?

I'd be fascinated to know why this is, some patterns seem to be very stable, like the cut off low pattern now and the warm/wet cold/dry pattern in the winter. I wonder if the two are somehow related and the stability of both patterns are connected.

999 tornadoes with 99 EF2+ possible, rather strange coincidence of numbers, Above normal to date this year.

Still depressed by this development
