Augdewst 2026: Summer's Last Stand
Snowedin replied to Prismshine Productions's topic in New England
It’s always laughable when peeps are so quick to write just this season off early when we still have the months of Septorcher, Dewtober, Mowvember and of course Grinchtember to come! -
You're in a serious rain shadow there. I bet your annual rainfall is 30 or so inches while high elevations to your west are around 50 Nice-looking line moving into central Calvert. Seeing lightning now
-
Happy birthday to your beautiful Mrs!

Lost power for 30 seconds and came back on, hallelujah! Spared after being hit during the heat wave. Over an inch of rain so far today. Plentiful T/L. Noisy. This is like a "if you enjoy the sound of summer thunder" line. Sound machine-worthy, classic.

Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change

It's always hard to break record, but Summer 2027 has the potential to be warm, being post-El Nino (one that will break the post-1948 record by 15-20%). This has nothing do with global warming: -
Just a shower here and breezy. I saw a little lightning in the north sky.
-
My wife says it always rains on her birthday. Today is her birthday and we have gotten 2.05". High was 96.

Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change

During the Strongest El Nino on record for July, too. The correlation isn't nearly as strong in the Summer, but generally La Nina's are the warmer Summer pattern, historically. -
Quite a bit of wind..what else is new
-
Yeah the HREF was onto that idea for sure showing very little TSTM risk east of about the mid point of NJ
