42 this morning here. Been stuck under the core of that cutoff all day and haven't broke out of the 40's with rain up until a couple of hours ago. The wind was blowing pretty good this morning had a wind chill of 35 lol. I woke up with very chilly bones. Had to go pull the propane tank off the grill and hook it up to my Mr. Buddy for a few hours. Need a break from those Winter heating bills

Surprised to see the sun this evening. 0.08” during the day from sprinkles and light showers. Precip forecasts for tomorrow and Tuesday are significantly reduced now. I wonder if the accuracy of forecasts will increase with advanced AI.

Anyone know anything about birds? I have a robin building her nest on top of my hose reel which is directly under my dryer vent. I don’t mind the nest and plan on leaving her be. But I wonder if the hot exhaust from the dryer will be harmful the eggs (which she hasn’t laid yet).

No rainfall here since this morning. The late afternoon hours even featured some sun. Total for the event is 1.81". Waiting to see what the next couple of days bring.

1.5 yesterday and 1.03 today. Guessing that was my heaviest rain of the year that fell yesterday, since the 1.5 inches fell over a combined 162 minutes. Also kinda crazy that I received about 25% of my yearly rain total over a span of 18 hours these past two days.

this forecast is looking like my last 4 days here in Ohio (plus Monday)- rain. There's a winter storm watch for over 9000 ft sunny!

It looked like a training effect was setting up on radar earlier for that area. I figured they must've gotten heavier amounts. When we do get thunderstorms into this area, the very top of NJ seems to do well. I've lived in Sparta for 5 years, and it's a regular occurance to be able to watch storms off our northwest facing deck, as they train along the top of NJ and into Orange County. I can often hear distant rumbles of thunder and the clouds are always an awesome sight. It's less common for storms to miss to the south. Is there anything to the geography of the area that causes this to happen? I'd love to see average rainfall over the past few years from Port Jervis, NY vs Sparta NJ, especially during thunderstorm season.

Spoke too soon. Multiple cells have moved through since but still overall, better than I expected with sun in between!

Usually it the Oak prong disaster and I can see all those things up on the Oaks now, dangling down like dongs tickling our faces.. but the maples are loaded like I’ve never seen with copters.

Dry last year? Maybe it triggered them into a bumper crop?

Exactly a half inch here. Good enough. Was already out of the drought, but was beginning to get dry again. Maybe another quarter inch or so over the next couple days with scattered showers.

Has anyone else noticed how many helicopters are on the maples this summer? I have never, ever seen anything like this on them around here. This will be a disaster the next few weeks as they come down . Wonder why so many this summer .
