We have picked up .75-1" of snow IMBY. That is already at or well ahead of what any model(not named the GFS) consistently showed. Right now our winds are out of the NE at 7mp which is exactly where they should be coming from w/ that high over the top. The cold is getting reinforced at lower levels. CAD on this side of the mountain for all intents and purposes. I feel certain it gets scoured out...but some areas may fight that changeover longer than others.

5:48 my sister who lives in far SE Ohio just across the river from Huntington WV has just started snowing.

I would be shocked if one of our snow storms DIDN'T start earlier than modeled. Never understood why, but it seems the norm.

The rates right before the flip would be very nice. 0.1-0.2" QPF in an hour, probably some huge silver dollar style flakes before the changeover

The GFS is saying that we will get a reinforcing shot of arctic air after next week, forcing storms to our south ots.

Awesome. If you don't already have one, a baking steel (or knockoff version from Amazon) is a great way to get even better results. There's a fun recipe for cacio e pepe pizza that uses an ice cube on top of the dough. Maybe I'll have to do a version using freshly fallen sleet haha
