It’s been pretty breezy here all morning since I first went to let the chooks out.

43° and SCT skies. Not sure we hit 55° here today.

We tend to drop 25F on rad nights so I start worrying about freezes imby with highs 55-57°. So the potted plants will have to come in tonight.

You'll be 27

I’d have to disagree with that statement for my area…have had at least a few mornings in the upper 40’s the last week plus. Today being the coolest so far, (until tomorrow of course), on the truck temp at 8:15, which was 45.  This past Saturday night was very cool and autumn like as well.

Yeah we had some cool mornings too, but that first real crisp wind driven cold is what I mean. Just had that feel.

CAR 2.5" Sep 29-30, 1991 for its first measurable snow on record in Sep.  2" at Glen NH Sep 16, 1986 as a spinner occurred at the same time in Scituate MA.  @CoastalWx be like, "how can that be!?" :P

When we lived in Fort Kent, we had slushy flakes during a northeast storm on Sept 14, 1977.  Places above 1,000 asl had 2"+.  Five years later when we lived near that 1,000 mark in the back settlement, we had slushy flakes on August 28.

Had some high 30s gusts 9-10 AM, still pretty windy.  About 70% leaf drop and climbing - was a great autumn for colors while it lasted.  In another topic, got a couple of deer ticks yesterday, first I've seen since June.  The horrid beasts seem to disappear in late summer here.

I thought it was going to be south? Recent models change that.

Yep. Been trending north.

Prior models had high pressure over the region shunting any remnants south. The trend has been the opposite lately.

AI models also have a solid trough passage in the days after. Could be a signal for a widespread freeze through a good part of the region.

I thought somebody Late last week said we were going to heat up after Columbus Day….

Would not be surprising once the cane develops in the Gulf of America to see it trend East. Models notoriously are too far west down there with landfall and shift East right until it hits. If so, that would offer a much better chance of a curve out south and Stein . Farther west and it would come north

Upcoming stretch looks about as perfect as can be for Fall. We'll definitely get some chilly nights with HPs rolling through but temperatures will rebound nicely during the day. There certainly could be some unseasonably warm days mixed in if we aren't wedged but a very Fall like pattern...mild days with cool-to-chilly overnights.
