Had a big tree go down imby. Numerous branches down a temporary tent where I have my smoker blew away was green as hell then got dark. Had 2 different sirens go off about 15-20mins apart. Got hail twice. First one was about quarter size best storm of the year so far on top of many already file size is ridiculous. Tried compressing the same image and crop it like 4 times lol

CheeselandSkies Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Did not expect something on the magnitude of that Menasha area tornado. Reminds me a bit of a slightly less intense Plainfield. Sneaky high-CAPE HP sigtor in what was expected to be a summer wind bag. Likewise also missed a potentially much more catastrophic impact by a day (EAA had ended the day before, in Plainfield school started the day after).

The way the storms moved almost due south in Illinois reminded me of the Roanoke F4 day almost exactly. If a remember correctly, wasn't that also expected to be a derecho type event to start the day?

Stebo
Quite a weird outcome to yesterday, everything rode the front and the front was never able to advance NE into MI until really late and after the atmosphere was worked over. I would have loved to gotten more rain than we did last night though.

It looked like you were at least going to get a decent rain over there. I guess that didn’t happen. We ended up with about .60 here last night. I wasn’t sure we were going to get anything so I’m happy with that.
