  1. Coming down for some R&R at the end of the month. Hopefully we’ll see an 80…
  2. Tornado sirens in the distance here in Edgebrook near Niles border WTH!!!
  3. More hail in Arlington Heights. What the hail.
  4. I've never seen this much hail over such a long period of time. At least twenty minutes now with what I would call "pea sized hail showers." Had golfballs living in Northwest Cobb County Georgia but never anything like this.
  5. Lived on the south side of Kenosha in 2010 when a horrible derecho cleared the lake front parks of their older trees. My neighborhood on Lincoln Rd near Snap on was crushed.
  6. Agreed on Florida. The absolute worst. 30A on the panhandle just east of Destin has the most beautiful beaches I've been to in the States. Absolutely gorgeous--getting there is no picnic but once you get thru the ride in it's amazing. Rode out a tropical storm in a beach house in Seagrove Beach a few years back--when the storm passed we had miles of beach all to ourselves.
  7. Trees and signs in Arlington Heights are glazing nicely. Roads and sidewalks so far are doing well.
  8. Hopefully not Atlanta stupid. One of the many funny things about living in the ATL is watching people hoard bread and bottled water in the run up to a dusting of snow or a tropical depression pushing thru. Although I will say driving anywhere in the Atlanta metro with a dusting is ridiculously unsafe due to the hilly terrain. Breathe, prepare, hunker down. Don't be ATL stupid.
  9. Noticeable difference in air temps between 9 am and now in NW Burbs. Mood flakes and cold.
  10. Who's volunteering to build a snow magnet effigy in Beach Park/Zion in his likeness?
  11. 100% this. Not only are warnings and public messages instantly sent its also message boards like this that are quickly spread and taken out of context. Still thinking a watch will be maintained only because of high winds/open areas and holiday travel.
  12. They'll keep it in place simply for "holiday travel" Yeah...that's the ticket!
  13. Lovin' the December lightning in the NW Burbs
  14. Greatest post. All time. Wrap it up everyone.
  15. I'm not sure what we've seen here in A.Heights but it's impressive vs what I expected. The headline is definitely a head scratcher-especially considering the timing of this mess on the morning commute. Not that it would have changed anything but I think extending the Winter Storm Warning area would have been a smart move for lot
