It smells like the forest fire moved into a huge pile of used tires. Smell like burning rubber. The odd blue fog is nice too. It's going to be a great summer day lol. Have i mentioned how I dislike summer lol

The specific smell is what I remember from a few years ago.  Not a campfire smell, but an acrid, completely unpleasant smell.

My AQI is hovering around 300.

IAD and DCA are near 1 mile visibility.

Yeah that storm popped right over the bay.

Did you see that training line of storms that moved across central/southern NJ? Some 4" amounts in that area.

Did you see the visible satellite of that? It just kept boiling right on that stalled dry line. The smoke was flowing in from the nw and suddenly that complex exploded and kept boiling. It was a beautiful event.

My memory is that 2023 smelled like a wet, stale campfire. Agree with @dailylurkerthat today has more tire-fire notes

For as bad as the AQ is right now, if you are old like me this is nothing compared to going to a Caps game at the old Cap Center in the early 80s

Ha, or the Kingdome in Seattle back in the day. Was in Seattle in the mid-90s when they had A-Rod, J Buhner, Ken Griffey Jr, and Edgar Martinez and would hit multiple home runs a game. Every time they'd set off fireworks, and the smoke would start settling down with each consecutive homer. By the late innings you were praying for good opponent relief pitching.
