Now there's a "everybody out b [insert time here] rule. But yea, waiting that long to dismiss was kind of weird. it's the same problem though. OPM directed everyone to basically leave at 2pm... everyone all at once. Only once have they ever staged it as "up to x hours leave, NLT then Y departure." You can also tell the normal reporting chains are not functioning, as it took forever for media to pick it up.

Not entirely accurate. Many departments and associated agencies were informed of the decision prior to noon and were told to leave NLT 2pm. It was not all at once. SnowenOutThere
Don't know if this is the appropriate place but some snow squalls making it over the mountains looks possible tomorrow. Anyways, if someone gets caught in one it might put down a quick coating based on the soundings

Im starting to think I have a chance at some snow before the precip exits. Shield is pretty big in the cold sector. Last week it started snowing at 37 degrees. Accums seem much less likely (near 0% lol) this time but seeing snow fall again within 24 hours of sweat and t-shirts is comical

katabatic
Hi today was 63, now it's 27 with a legit snowstorm outside. Winds clocked in the upper 40mph range w/visibilities under 1/4mi at times. I just got back from a business trip and was paying attention to the severe threat and didn't really think about the wintry side. Nice surprise!
